HUNDREDS of Nigerians gathered again to celebrate the third D-Blaze Entertainment Music Awards 2019 (DBE MA) in London over the weekend that saw the handing out of honours to 30 artists who have excelled in the UK diaspora community.
At the event which took place at the Old Stratford Town hall in east London, a variety of entertainers were honoured with plaques in recognition of their services to the industry. Among those who attended the event were dignitaries like the Queen Naa Tsotsoo Soyoo1 of Ghana and the chairman of the Africanvoice Prince Mike Abiola, Dr Dayo Olomu and the chairman of the ( Trumpet ) Femi Okutubo who both handed out awards to the recipients. DBE Music Awards founder Hrh Prince Tade Olusile, said: “We have a thriving and vibrant entertainment industry among the UK diaspora community and we decided to launch this initiative to recognise and celebrate them. Looking at the calibre of those who were honoured, we hope that this will also serve as an inspiration to young up and coming artists.”

Best male Gospel act: The Unstoppable.
Best female gospel act: Joyful Praise.
Best female act: Shady Blue.
Best gospel act: T24realgrace. Best male act: Olu Dre.
Best male newcomer: Danny Lampo.
Best female newcomer: Regine Garnier.
Others included Best rnb/soul act: Jordan Adetunji.
Best song: Megastar.
Best comedian: Akpos.
Best Promoter: Esho Promotions.
Best Gospel Male Newcomer: Olatempo Alasepe,
Best new discovery of the year: Ladi D.
Best indigenous male act: Innocent.
Best MC of the year: Ella Pat T.
Best Producer: Seun Oke.
Outstanding Achievement in gospel music: Evang Funmi Alayo Anifowose.
Outstanding Achievement in gospel music: Busola Omo Jesu.
Outstanding Achievement in gospel music: Ronke Olubanwo.
Outstanding Achievement in gospel music: Bola Oshodi.
Outstanding Achievement in gospel music: Ruth Talabi.
Outstanding Achievement in gospel music: Bamidele Farinre.

In a night that featured entertainment, music and an array of African cuisine, there was a live performance from Vera Tunes, Blessing Olubanjo, EMPrince, BMystireo, Crown, Seun Oke, Joyful Praise, Jordan Adetuji, Regine Garnier, Olu Dre, Lady Evang Funmi Alayo Anifowose and Danny Lampo.
Other community leaders who were also on hand to present awards included Queen Naa Tsotsoo Sayoo 1, Tv presenter Otunba Olabode Osenie, Cllr Shade, and Dr Dayo Olomu, Prince Mike Abiola, M A Benson, Femi Okutubo, Lady Oluyemisi Akinbola, Dr J Olu Adegbite, Rev Dr Prisca Richard’s, Pastor Ola and Biodun Paseda.
According to Prince Olusile, now that the third event has held successfully again, DBE Music Awards should become an annual feature in the diaspora social calendar.
